National Wax Museum of Lancaster County Heritage-Burning the Bridge

This scene from the National Wax Museum of Lancaster County Heritage shows four citizens of Lancaster burning the bridge that crosses the Susquehanna River. This stopped the Confederate army from being able to advance, and turned them west, an action that led to the Gettysburg battle in July of 1863.

One of the men with a pitchfork.

Another citizen of Columbia.

A man on his knees.

The best figure in my opinion, is this man blowing the fire.

Here's another view of the whole scene.

The informative sign next to the tableau.

The entire scene sold at the auction for $3,100.

All photos (except the first) are from Jennings Auction Group.
