Mammoth Cave Wax Museum-Geronimo

(1829-1909)

Here's a picture of Geronimo, from the Mammoth Cave Wax Museum. He was an Apache medicine man and warrior who fought the American government during its expansion into the west. After years of fighting, Geronimo finally surrendered to the United States Government in 1886. The figure is a pretty good representation and looks to be Geronimo when he was in his late 50's or early 60's.

A closer view of the wax figure. Geronimo died in 1909 in an Oklahoma prison, and was buried at the Apache Indian Prisoner of War Cemetery.
